DTN COMMENTS: Some scattered bids are on back on the table at
midmorning. Asking prices are around $204-plus in Kansas and Texas, and
$321 in Nebraska. Light business has taken place this week, mostly in the
South at $202 to $203, $3 to $4 lower than last week's weighted averages.
Just a handful of Northern dressed sales have been reported in parts of
Nebraska at $320, but it just wasn't enough to establish a true trend for
the week. A more significant trade will likely take place later today
and/or tomorrow. Beef cutouts are expected to be lower with light to
moderate box movement.
According to the Export Sales Highlights report for the period of January
31 to February 6, 2025 net beef export sales of 13,100 MT for 2025
primarily for South Korea(7,400 MT), Japan(2,700 MT), Mexico(1,000 MT),
Canada(500 MT), and Taiwan(400 MT), were offset by reductions for
China(500 MT). Exports of 14,900 MT were primarily to South Korea(4,800
MT), Japan(3,600 MT), China(2,200 MT), Mexico(1,300 MT), and Canada(800
MT).
